Training people to respond when it matters most

I am a dedicated educator, registered paramedic, and facilitator with over 20 years of experience in emergency healthcare, outdoor education, and professional training.

Throughout my career I have worked across frontline emergency response, education, and community development, bringing real-world experience into the learning environment.

My approach to training focuses on practical skills, strong communication, and creating learning experiences that empower people to respond with confidence when it matters most.

As a father of four young children and someone who has experienced both profound joy and unexpected loss, I deeply value the importance of resilience, community, and shared knowledge. These experiences continue to shape the way I teach, facilitate learning, and support others in developing the skills needed to navigate life’s challenges.

I am a dedicated educator and healthcare professional with over 20 years of experience in training, teaching, outdoor education, and emergency healthcare. My passion lies in enhancing community, empowering others through shared experiences and knowledge and aligning training with meaningful and purpose driven outcomes.

My Mission

Stories shape who we are, and I believe in the power of sharing them to create meaningful change.

Throughout my career, I have been committed to creating learning environments where individuals feel safe to share their experiences, build confidence, and develop practical life skills.

Through my work, I support teams, community groups, and individuals in developing essential skills in first aid, emergency preparedness, and mental health awareness.

My approach focuses on practical, experience-based learning that equips people to respond thoughtfully and confidently when faced with challenges. My personal and professional experiences have reinforced the importance of a person-centred approach to learning and outcomes.

This perspective continues to shape the way I design and deliver training programs that support both physical safety and mental wellbeing in professional and community environments.

Professional Background

My professional journey spans emergency healthcare, education, training, and outdoor leadership, giving me a unique perspective on the value of authentic, purpose-driven learning.

As a registered paramedic, qualified teacher, and trainer, I have had the opportunity to work with organisations across a wide range of sectors including schools, TAFEs, universities, businesses, and community groups. This experience has enabled me to understand the diverse needs of individuals and teams working in different environments and cultural contexts.

What continues to draw me to the training sector is the purpose that underpins it. I have witnessed many moments where people discover their true capabilities, often in unexpected situations. These moments of learning and growth can have a lasting impact, shaping future decisions, confidence, and outcomes.

Many of these experiences occur beyond traditional classrooms, reinforcing the importance of practical learning that prepares people for real-world situations. What continues to draw me to the training sector is the purposeful nature that underpins it.

The people involved, the mission behind their learning and the potential to assist in delivering transformative experience through sessions. I’ve witnessed countless moments where people discover their true capabilities, often in unexpected situations, that become powerful learning and growing opportunities.

These experiences have occurred far beyond the traditional classroom and, in some cases, have created lasting impacts that have shaped future decisions and outcomes.

Current Focus

Today, I combine my experience in emergency healthcare with my passion for education through the courses and services delivered by KsafeT. I remain actively involved in the pre-hospital care community, teaching, training and education, and the adventure travel sector, while continuing to develop and grow professionally.

In 2026, I will begin a Graduate Certificate in Healthcare in Remote and Extreme Environments through the University of Tasmania. This opportunity will allow me to remain connected with industry experts, educators, and health professionals in the emergency and pre-hospital care sector, while further strengthening the knowledge and training that KsafeT brings to communities and organisations.

I remain committed to creating educational experiences that inspire individuals and groups, helping people recognise their potential and develop the confidence to respond in times of distress.

My personal and professional experiences shape the way I approach education and training. Through KsafeT, I integrate these experiences to deliver programs focused on mental health awareness, adventure travel safety, and emergency response skills—areas I am both passionate about and well qualified to deliver.

I look forward to working with you.
